Happy Streets Festival
Nine Elms Arts Ministry were delighted to be back at Happy Streets Festival on 9th July 2022.
After our incredibly popular workshops in 2019 & 2021, we once again hosted a range of FREE Arts Wellbeing Craft Workshops from 12-6pm in the allotment Area and Happiness Garden at St George’s CE Primary SW8 4JS.
In 2021, Nine Elms Arts Ministry hosted several activities at the Festival. Visitors were invited to: “enjoy the serenity of learning to paint stunning Sea Fan designs and take home a beautiful painted tile to display. Revel in nature as you create and decorate simple but beautiful mini nature displays for your home. Sculpt Bowls of Hope and decorate with your own message and nature inspired designs. Create inspiring painted designs on beautiful natural stones and help make a pathway of peace. Create beautiful butterflies expressing your deepest wishes and aspirations – they will create a semi-permanent display for the entrance to the Happiness Garden.”.
In 2022, visitors were welcomed to create ink portraits, design happiness acrylic paintings, and weave messages of joy which were displayed as a public installation on the school fence. Children and adults were encouraged to contribute thoughts and reflections about peace and happiness, which decorated the “Peace on Earth Tree” in the Happiness Garden, inside the school grounds. Back by popular demand from 2021, our mini nature displays featured jam jars full of beautiful flowers and greenery - with thanks to Chic Flower Designs.
Happy Streets is organised by The Nine Elms Team at Wandsworth Council as part of Wandsworth Arts Fringe
Nine Elms Arts Ministry was delighted to take part in this community event in 2019, 2021 and 2022.
Happy Streets is a joyful one-day annual festival for all ages - organised by the Nine Elms Team at Wandsworth Council, in multiple locations around Thessaly Road in Nine Elms.
This FREE event was inspired by Yinka Ilori’s transformation of the railway bridge on Thessaly Road into the Happy Streets Bridge in 2019.
