Best Arts Project winner in the national Hearts for Arts Awards 2021

This collaborative project was initiated by Nine Elms Arts Ministry at the start of the pandemic and quickly grew through partnerships with a wide group of organisations including: Wandsworth Council, Battersea Arts Centre, Royal College of Art and National Trust.

The project worked to distribute packs of creative materials, art resources and stationery, to primary school children most in need around Nine Elms, Battersea and beyond.

In July a ‘Summer Sketchbook’ version of the project was distributed to 4,000 children across Wandsworth (including a high percentage in Nine Elms/Battersea) taking the total number of physical packs created to 10,000. The artist designed sketchbook was also made available online.

In February 2021 the project was awarded ‘Best Arts Project’ in the national ‘Hearts for Arts’ awards.
